AB - The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a Spiritual Resilience Scale based on Christian spirituality. To achieve this, items were derived by identifying the concept and components of spiritual resilience from the perspective of the Christian faith, followed by the development and validation of the scale. The results of the study are as follows. Based on the internal(cognitive, emotional, volitional) competencies and external(faith community) competencies of spiritual resilience previously identified, as well as an understanding of the image of the biblical God and the biblical perspective on suffering, a total of 49 items were derived through a literature review and analysis of open-ended questions. An exploratory factor analysis and parallel analysis conducted on the 49 items revealed a three-factor structure. Subsequently, a confirmatory factor analysis was performed to compare a three-factor and four-factor model, with the three-factor model being found to be the most appropriate. Convergent validity was confirmed through a strong correlation between spiritual resilience and spiritual well-being, and the reliability of the scale was confirmed through test-retest reliability. Clinical implications for biblical counseling using the Spiritual Resilience Scale, limitations of the study, and suggestions for future research were proposed.
