ABSTRACT

In order to respond to the discursive crisis driven by the 4th industrial revolution on the one hand, and to respond to the more substantial crisis driven by the acceleration of demographic onus on the other, many Korean local and regional universities are desperately seeking to innovate their educational systems. The Purpose of this research is to examine a symbolic case of Republic Polytechnic in Singapore, which has been widely recognised as the champion of PBL since its establishment in 2002. RP has not only set PBL as its founding mission, but also invented unique methodology to implement the pedagogy thoroughly and consistently. How could RP have achieved those successes? The researcher hopes that the findings from the case study of Republic Polytechnic may provide Korean universities with meaningful insights for their educational innovation projects.
