ABSTRACT

The role of traditional humanities for the development of the cultural tourism industry Chung, Yo-Il What is the ‘Munwha’[culture]? The ‘Mun’ is that the morality[fresh or chaste] is shiny and bright, and the ‘Wha’ is to be changed into good people or a better world being taught and realized. Therefore, ‘Munwha’[culture] means the condition or degree on which people are changing into good people and customs, civilizations and institutions are changing into bright picture of shiny morality. What is the ‘KwanKwang’[tourism]? This means looking into the brilliant achievement of the country. So it is just not the purpose for the tourism to sightsee the noted mountains and large rivers or historical remains, and to look around the tangible and intangible cultural heritages exteriorly. Now we have to promote the cultural tourism industry to the direction in which foreigners can think of Korea as the country of morality or courtesy when they meet koreans and they look around the moral traditions or traces of korean civilization. Also, we have to develop cultural products according to this point of view. We have been short of such preparations. we do not have enough information signboards for the roads or remains and do not have enough explanations which can lead people's interests. And we do not develop the standardized map of history and culture. This makes it possible for them to plan tours effectively within limited time looking the internet sites obviously and clicking them before foreigners invite Korea. And we neglected the education of morality and manners which can give a deep impression to others. Also recent education system did not support these educations. The people who are related with these parts should work in close cooperation keeping it in mind that education, finally, is to train cultural people.
