ABSTRACT

Difference between Hyangchon-sajok and Kyungwa-sajok in Consciousness of Hyangchon through Sadaebu Gasa in the 18th century Ahn, Hye-Jin This essay aims to examine difference between Hyangchon-sajok and Kyungwa-sajok in consciousness of Hyahgchon through Sadaebu Gasa in the 18th century. Hyangchon-sajok Gasa focused on social problems in Hyangchon. It depicted the miserable situations of people who suffered from tax system and pointed out the solution of that had to be suggested in System dimension. Hyangchon-sajok felt the same pain of people in Hyangchon and spoke for them. Conversely, Kyungwa-sajok used the existing types of Gasa and described pain of people in Hyangchon just in part. Futhermore they recognized it as not social but individual problem. They looked at people from official positions or kept a certain distance from them. The differences between Hyangchon-sajo and Kyungwa-sajok in consciousness were caused by the different basis of life. Their different social, politiacl, economic and cultural situation brought a remarkable contrast in Gasa.
