ABSTRACT

This thesis saw that the oral tradition narrative <Crooked Old Woman> was the de-sanctity of the divinity of the Creator, and wanted to reveal the narrative meanings of the character that appeared in this piece. The tale of <Crooked Old Woman> was the most talked about in Gyeongsang Province(76%), and the storytellers were overwhelmingly dependent on the old women. The main space in the <Crooked Old Woman> narrative is high mountains, this is the place where the guardian deity (Mountain-Guardian) showed their transcendent ability. Also, the Crooked Old Woman’s main act is the excretion, this is consistent with the creator’s behavior in the myth of creation travestied. The tale of <Crooked Old Woman> has been passed on reflecting on the old women’s care ethics for minority and reinterpreting the world.
