AB - In modern society, the acceleration of industrialization and digitalization has intensified individual experiences of stress and emotional anxiety. As a result, there is a growing social demand for wellness content that can simultaneously promote physical health and emotional recovery. This study aims to respond to this social need by reinterpreting the traditional value of tea culture in a contemporary context and exploring the characteristics and industrial development directions of wellness-converged tea products. First, this study defines wellness as a holistic state of health achieved through the balance of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social dimensions, and examines tea products as effective mediators that can realize multidimensional wellness. Second, this study analyzes the current status of the tea industries in the East, the West, and Korea, identifying four common global trends: the expansion of functional tea consumption, the rapid growth of ready-to-drink (RTD) products, the spread of premium and ethical consumption, and the rise of experiential services. Furthermore, this study discusses the applicability of digital technologies such as IoT and AI, highlighting opportunities for industry expansion through smart teapots, health data–based personalized recommendations, subscription platforms, and VR/AR-based cultural experiences. Academically, this study establishes an integrative perspective that connects traditional tea culture with wellness research, while practically, it explores developmental directions for the tea industry to evolve into a converged sector encompassing health, culture, tourism, and technology. Future research should conduct empirical validation and technology acceptance analysis to further assess the effectiveness and market potential of wellness-converged tea products.
