ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a GIS-based smart city integrated monitoring platform designed to overcome the limitations of vertical control systems and information fragmentation caused by urban overpopulation and aging infrastructure. Moving away from conventional video monitoring methods, this study designed and verified the effectiveness of an architecture that organically integrates intelligent selective control with GIS maps. The research results demonstrated that integrating data collection across various protocols resolved information fragmentation, while AI- and sensor-based event displays reduced the cognitive load on control personnel and improved response speeds. Additionally, by ensuring efficient system operation, the platform contributes to the sustainable smart city goals of optimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions. Consequently, spatial information visualization minimized monitoring blind spots and maximized operational efficiency. For future research, we plan to expand this system into a digital twin-based 3D simulation to further advance the real-time disaster response prediction system.
