ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the virtual world and the field of information security from the perspective of Reformed Life Theology, and to propose a direction for security ethics that preserves human dignity and communal values in the digital environment. In today’s technology-driven society, the virtual world has become an important existential space in which human social, economic, and cultural activities take place. As a result, problems such as confusion over digital identity, the weakening of data sovereignty, and algorithm-based human alienation have emerged. This study reinterprets the virtual world based on the core principles of Reformed Life Theology, namely “life-centeredness” and “personhood,” and expands the meaning of security from mere technical control to human-centered ethical practice. In particular, it proposes a framework for security ethics centered on truthfulness, community, and restorative justice, thereby suggesting a direction for protecting human dignity in the digital environment. In conclusion, this study contributes to extending Baekseok University’s founding philosophy into an academic discourse appropriate for the digital age.
