ABSTRACT

In modern society, the role of cyberspace is deeply rooted in our lives and has an impact on us, to the point that it is impossible to imagine life without online and cyberspace, as well as offline. In particular, the cyberspace has expanded further during the COVID-19 era, and as time spent at home has increased due to isolation from the outside world and the expansion of telecommuting and online classes, the importance of cyberspace has become more urgently recognized. However, as the importance of cyberspace has been recognized during the COVID-19 era, cyberattacks that exploit it have also increased rapidly. Cybercrimes such as various phishing and ransomware have further increased attacks on individuals, society, and public facilities, causing social chaos such as paralysis of computer networks. These cyberattacks have expanded further and have even expanded to cyber-international attacks. As the number of attacks has rapidly increased and the resulting damage has exceeded the capabilities of individuals or companies, efforts are being made to defend against them under the leadership of the state. This study is a study on cyber insurance as a way to prepare for various impacts that occur after cyberattacks from the perspective of damage. The United States is the country where the most research on cyberattacks has been conducted worldwide, and it also has an overwhelming subscription rate for cyber insurance. By comparing this with the United States, we would like to suggest ways to expand domestic cyber insurance.
