ABSTRACT

This study compares the prefaces of Hwanghwajib and the contents of the anthologists’ anthologies compiled and published from 1450(the 32nd year of King Sejong’s reign) to 1633(the 11th year of King Injo’ reign), and then examines the changes in contents. The prefaces of Hwanghwajib were not included in the anthologists’ anthologies in the same form, and its imprint was not recorded in their anthologies. The prefaces of Hwanghwajib consist of a total of 24 pieces, of which 16 were included in the anthologists’ personal anthologies, one was included in Dongmunseon that was not Gwon Ram’s anthology at a certain time in 1457, and the remaining seven were not recorded in the anthology of each anthologist. Out of 24 anthologists who wrote prefaces of Hwanghwajib, 13 were Munhyeong from Saga-Dokseodang, and 11 were men of knowledge comparable to Munhyeong. When these prefaces of Hwanghwajib were included in their anthologies, more than 458 changes happened due to misspelling or omission of letters, and the use of variant forms of Chinese characters, etc.
