AB - These days most classical poetry works that we meet had been recited in a way of song and reciting. So the expression like this ‘sing a song’ frequently appeared in the works, and this paper focused on the remarks to search what had poetry been chanted actually in a marrymaking place in the early part of Choseon Dynasty.
By doing like that I intended to establish the system about the history of classical poetry with understanding transmissive aspects of Koryugayo(고려가요) and the developmental period of Sijo(시조) in the early part of Choseon Dynasty.
The matters which have discussed until now summarize as follows. So far, after Koryugayo(고려가요) had been declined, the poetry in the early part of Chosoen were known as Koryugayo(고려가요) was replaced by a short type of Sijo(시조) in the genty’s favor. But if readers of the literature was not only the upper classes but also all sections and classes, this view may have no persuasive power. Accordingly the gentry’s apparent inclination could not meet the desire behind the facts, and they possessed themselves of the preceding poetry or song. Because the fact that a genre was generated does not mean that the preceding genre disappeared or was replaced by the upper classes’s inclination.
In this situation, in the case of Sijo(시조) author’s works appeared in Sijo-jip(시조집) cannot be admitted and the standardized works like today’s was completed after King Seogjong’s period according to the record of the king’s period. In addition to, Ak-jang(악장) which praised a new dynasty was chanted with the founding of a new dynasty, and Koryugayo(고려가요) and Kyunggichega(경기체가) in the previous era were also beloved continually. And folk song and a farmer of song were also sung as a song of those days.
