ABSTRACT

This paper is a comparative study between native speaker’s dialogue and textbook dialogue for foreigners in shopping. Learners who learn Korean as a non-native language assumes that they can get appropriate expressions from textbook. For this, we need to check that textbook's dialogues are similar with native Korean's dialogue; if it is not well matching, then we need to figure out differences and factors. In the abstract, textbook has native Koreans' dialogues pattern which is thought as typical pattern by Korean, and these dialogues must lead learners close to the native speaking. For this goal, this study suggested a method; to get native Koreans' dialogues from Korean student’s dialogues corpus about purchase by survey. And then we had compared dialogues between patterns of survey result and Korean text books’ purchase dialogues. In conclusion, this study got some main factors which are made their differences; (a) most of text book has purchase expressions in beginners’ book as one of requirement function what learners needs, (b) but purchase function needs an overall of language. According to our survey, 20 age’s Korean native speakers use over 10 sentences though; text book shows only 3 or 4 sentences.
