ABSTRACT

This paper was studied for the improvement of literacy of the Deaf. From the literacy test with 167 deaf peoples and analysis of its data we know that ways for improving of literacy of the Deaf must be different from them for the audible people. the points of them are as follows. First, it is important that we need to develop education programs on demand for the Deaf. Second, literacy program for the Deaf must be offered as a lifelong education. Third, with literacy education for the Deaf it is specially focus on education for fact informations. Fourth, the development of textbook refflecting characteristics in literacy of the Deaf. Fifth, the development of valuation standards for literacy of the Deaf. The upper suggested points is very important to improve literacy of the Deaf and ultimatly needed for the Deaf to have a happy life in audible society.
