ABSTRACT

This study aimed to effectively database Korean Novels in Literary Sinitic by linking existing ontology-based data modeling results with XML document structure design. This approach sought to overcome the limitations of the classical novel archive, which primarily focused on simple bibliographic organization. Through this approach, it complemented the limitations of existing management methods, which limited themselves to providing general bibliographic information. Furthermore, it developed a design proposal that reflects both material and contextual elements, presenting sample data. Metadata clarified the information layers embedded in the data, including AdminInfo, BibliInfo, and ContentInfo. For the Contents section, specific criteria were presented, including semantic unit scene segmentation, key entity identification, detailed attribute definitions, critical information placement, communication issues, and complete text processing. However, this discussion focused on the overall design direction for XML-based data generation and did not encompass detailed processing issues. Importantly, this design should not remain a one-off proposal but should be expanded to encompass actual data accumulation and utilization.
