ABSTRACT

This study aims to investigate the potential of defining locality as a more comprehensive concept in the field of linguistics, and to explore the significance of research that takes locality as a local phenomenon into account. In the field of linguistics and literature, the concept of locality has traditionally been confined to the characteristics of tangible and intangible entities that define a specific geographical location within a larger spatial context. In other words, existing discussions of locality have typically been based on a notion of a fixed geographic space. This discussion proposes an extension of the concept of locality from its geographical spatial basis to the extreme opposite of the systemic nature that underlies the whole, where individuality is maximized. This individuality encompasses individual regions, local communities, and individual contexts that represent local participants and local community settings. It's also argued that entities with individuality can exist independently, without necessarily being linked to the abstract system that embodies the characteristics of the higher system, and that this possibility should be acknowledged.
