ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to examine the perception of human beings by Muwidang Jang Il-soon. Jang Il-soon was a person who first established and practiced the idea of life as a pioneer of the Korean life movement since the 1970s. The establishment of life thought is a criticism of industrial society and a reflection on human-centered thinking as a criticism of Western civilization. As a result, his life ideas are aimed at the symbiosis of man and nature. Under this ideological background, his perception of human beings combines Catholic faith with Donghak ideology, and Taoism with Buddhist colors. Basically, Jang Il-soon's perception of humans is understood in the context of a holistic of the world. In order to become an ecological human being, one must always have an attitude of self-denial life. In today's ecological crisis, theory and practice are becoming more and more important. In this respect, Jang Il-soon's ecological human again gives us great implications.
