ABSTRACT

Migrant’s networks are one of the crucial axes which explain the process of their migration and settlement, relating the place of origin and that of arrival. Recent studies which have reconstructed the Italian community of eastern and northern Paris make possible to have a more profound grasp of the history of Italian integration. Nevertheless, they too have some shortcomings, by simplifying or misunderstanding the complex aspects of integration, owing to the lack of sources. This article which takes aim at analysing the Italians at La Villette tries to reconstruct the totality of their networks. We take dimension of how functioned networks’ influence field at the geographical level, by applying new method of relating the family name, base of network, to the place of origin. This exhaustive approach would help to represent affluently the aspects of integration such as place of residence, marriage, profession, political attitude etc.
