ABSTRACT

On August 10, 1792, the demonstrators coming not only from Paris but also from different provinces of France took the Tuileries Palace. On the eve of this day, the French Revolution was threatened by the economic and financial crisis, foreign forces and counter-revolutionary movements. After the declaration of war on Austria, the military situation was unfavorable for France, and there were increasing demands to launch the offensive against internal enemies. The people, still at the scene of the Revolution since July 14, 1789, began to urge the court and the Legislative Assembly to take measures to resolve the difficult situation in France and finally launched an assault on the Tuileries in order to have their demands accepted. The monarchy is thus fallen, and the Revolution enters a new stage. In addition, the day of August 10, 1792 is a significant turning point in the direction of democracy, that is, the people themselves participate in politics to defend freedom and equality.
