ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the influence of community satisfaction on age integration through residents urban regeneration projects, whether life satisfaction plays a mediating role between the two variables. The survey was conducted among users of two urban regeneration community facilities located in Daegu, South Korea: the Naduri Silver Community Center and the Indongchon Health Sharing Center. A total of 138 valid responses were collected. The main variables included intergenerational integration (dependent variable), community satisfaction (independent variable), and life satisfaction (mediating variable). Structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed using SPSS 29.0 and AMOS 29.0. The results revealed, first, that community satisfaction had a significant positive effect on intergenerational integration. Second, life satisfaction served as a significant mediating variable in the relationship between community satisfaction and intergenerational integration. These findings suggest that urban regeneration projects can contribute to enhancing intergenerational integration through increased community satisfaction, and underscore the importance of promoting life satisfaction among residents in age-friendly urban environments.
