A Case Study for Recognition of the Body of Highschool Students Majoring in Dance

ABSTRACT

In this study, we proposed importance of the body in dance via interpretation of interviews with highschool students majoring in dance. For this purpose, we made interpretations of recognition of the body for highschool students majoring in dance and discussed educational meaning of them. We chose three students who experienced diet and had the courage of expressing their opinions from WooRi arts high school in Seoul. They recognized their body in relation with other people and dance performance. We described this step as discovery and manifestation of the body. Desirable recognition of the body in dance education should recognize a body as a tool which expresses inner beauty. In the end, distinctive beauty of dance should be reviewed.
