A Study on Normative Aesthetics Through Ideological Structure and Configurational Origin of Central Javanese Court Dance in Indonesia

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to understand the types of normative aesthetics based on the investigate on historical records, ideological structure, and form of movements of the central Javanese court dance in Indonesia. Ultimately, this study reveals the identity of Indonesian dances and established academic sympathy about South-East Asian dance art through collecting the materials about ‘normative aesthetics’ designed to emphasize religious and social education in Indonesian dance studies. This study explains the reason why this study focused on the Central Javanese court dance among all other Indonesian dances, and then reveals how the Central Javanese court dance reached normative aesthetics based on the principle and formation of dance ideas.
