AB - Liu jinhui (1891~1967) was the founder of children’s musicals and children’s musical songs in China. Children’s musicals influenced education and life of children as they used fairy tales or myth loved by children as a main theme.
The children’s musical of Lui jinhui is meaningful in that it does not stop short of looking back on good performances of the past and has been passed down on to dance education at school now as in the case of the at Eunseong Art School in Shanghai, in 2006.
This study identifies the activities and achievements of Lui jinhui in her lifetime, major contents of children’s musical performances and characteristics from the dance perspective. The characteristics of the children’s musicals from the dance perspective include new formats of dance and wording as well as active movement reflecting the mind of children.
