ABSTRACT

This study focused on emphasizing the historical and cultural characteristics of the dance of the folk song. The study aimed to explore the possibility of facilitating regional dances by using the characteristics of the dance of the folk song dance “Dondolrari” that evolved from a regional dance into a leading performance content through re-creation. “Dondolrari” is a leading regional dance in the form of a circle dance with play and impromptu elements, which originated in Bukcheong-gum, Hamgyeongnam-do. As the research method, the style of “Dondolrari” was examined in terms of commonality, autonomy, and creativity through a literary review and image analysis, and measures for facilitating regional dances were investigated. In the study, the measures for facilitating regional dances were discussed based on the cultural characteristics of Dondolrari such as commonality, autonomy, and creativity according to the types of dissemination of “Dondolrari”
