ABSTRACT

Since the mid-2010s, the Korean government and public institutions have supported living lab projects for local and urban regeneration, and social interests in the living labs have been rapidly increased. This study aims to explore possibilities of living lab in university dance education. Previous studies of living lab tend to involve case studies and future directions of living lab in the field of health, medicine, welfare, architecture, housing, and university system. This study discusses the concepts, characteristics, and issues of living lab in culture and arts, and then causes of low participation of dance world in living lab, and possible cases in dance living lab, drawing on literature reviews, analysis of websites, and interviews. This study provides ways to increase artistic, social, and economic values of dance and interact actively with contemporary society in the 21th century.
