ABSTRACT

This study analyzed the use of online platforms, increasing digital production, and changingperformance environment in the performing arts field during the COVID-19 era to present technical andsystematic requirements for development of dance arts in the post-COVID-19 era. Specifically, throughcases of NT Live operated by the National Theater and Marquee TV, an performing arts video OTTplatform, conducts research on whether on-tact-based performing arts videos can replace offlineperforming arts, and depicts matters to be considered in the side of producers and viewers. Closingtheaters by pandemic created a new paradigm of utilization of online media and performing arts as analternative space, which will contribute to expanding the age of the audience and increasing accessibilityto art. This study suggests that dance arts both online and offline could be promoted by establishinginfrastructure for digital production, cultivating technical experts, and forming trust organizations forrights of artists.
