AB - The Xueheng school was a famous group of the Cultural Conservatism in 1920’s. In the debates about the vernacular of the New Culture Movement，they focused on the linguistic form, the conflict of the Cultural Radicalism and the Cultural Conservatism, the new morality and the traditional morality. The Xueheng school pointed out that the aesthetical standard of the poetry wasn’t in the form of vernacular words accumulation, and should inherit the traditional poetic rhythm and the artistic conception, accord with the traditional ethics and make their aesthetic appeal gentle and moderatamente. The Xueheng school thought this was the development and the ideal goal of the new poetry.
