ABSTRACT

This study uncovered meaning that Culture- geography of JeJu. This based upon the <Tamrabyelgok>, a travel gasa of Jeju. I commented analysis of work from that literature to Culture by a subject of Work, a gasa work, a space. I think that jeju work mostly were based on a fable, a folk song and a exile work. but, <Tamrabyelgok> was not a fable, a folk song and a exile work. This work was made by Jung, un-you who a chieftain of Jeju. So that He would know that the actual conditions and the regional characteristics. This work expressed living conditions Jeju people, and he displayed that treat Jeju’s people subordinates kindly. He feel that loved about his life of a weary the lower classes. but he had his realistic and true sentiments. So, I think that this work refered to a refinement, a lyric gasa rather than a travel gasa. At <Tamrabyelgok>, I thought he explained a cultural peculiarity of Jeju by three kinds. 1) History, geography, scenery of Jeju that tidy and singular, 2) Be hard Jeju people, 3) An unique and an affluent Customs of Jeju. Such a peculiarity were based on a history book and a geography book that appeared an existence of Jeju. I explained an Culture- geography aspect by four kinds that was realized at <Tamrabyelgok>. I divided that 1) A unique cultural inclination at Jeju 2) A avoided circumference(the people of the lower classes), 3) estrangement of a actuality and a fantasy, 4) A dialectical nature of inside and outside. Such Culture- geographical trait was displayed various appearance of Jeju Space at 18 century. and this was exhibited a special thing and universality.
