ABSTRACT

The sympathetic field is a concept designed to analyze and criticize the human emotional drivers that explain the social character of emotion and at the same time guarantee the development of change in a society. This theory is also an analytical or critical concept, as well as a constitutive concept. In this article, I tried to examine the formation of specific fields of society, especially the formation of religious sympathetic field and the process of struggle. Before and after the nineteenth century, Chosun was a period of intense chaos in the whole area of life, as can be seen in the religious confrontation between the Seohak(西學) and Donghak(東學) and the ideological confrontation between the party of Gaehwa and the party of Wijeongcheoksa. In other words, this period is the period of formation, struggle, extinction and succession of innumerable fields. Therefore, in Chapter 3 of this article, I tried to reveal the coexistence aspect between Confucianism and Buddhism and the conflicting aspect between the Seohak(西學) and Donghak(東學). And I tried to explain the process of transforming this religious sympathetic field into a political sympathetic field in place of the conclusion. I believe that it can be an opportunity to explain a lot of sympathetic fields in our society.
