ABSTRACT

Gobong's poetry was greatly influenced by the poetry writing culture of Honam Sarim and the discussion on sexual aesthetics that arose in the 16th century. Gobong himself was a representative member of the Honam Sarim community in the 16th century, and was at the center of the debate that created their starting climate. Because it was such a high peak, it could not be free from the influence of the starting climate of Honam Sarim. In addition, the sexual theory that arose in the 16th century also influenced literary creation. In literature, Seongjeong Mihaglon had a great influence on Gobong literature. Whether it is Jugilon or Julilon, Seongjeong is at the center of the world, and Seongjeonglon, which means that Seongjeong's utterance is that person, was a sensation in the history of Korean thought in the 16th century. As you know, Gobong was at the center of Seongjeonglon. For Gobong, literary works also could not be free from Seongjeonglon, and by the same logic, his works could only be his own foreign versions. This is the inner foundation of Gobong literature. The qualities that appear in Gobong poetry are ‘Gilyeo’, ‘Jeon-a’, and ‘Jayeon’. The quality that Gobong most pursued, influenced by the poetic culture of Sarim in Honam in the 16th century, was ‘Gilyeo’. As can be seen from the review of Wongi’s poetry, Gobong recognized the quality of ‘Gilyeo’ as ‘poetry.’ Gobong tried to use ingenious, yet beautiful and beautiful expressions in his works. Therefore, in order to fully understand Gobong's poetry, it is necessary to make an effort to read the beauty of expression. Gobong was also influenced by Toegye's literary theory and tried to write elegant poetry. It attempted to portray the nature in front of us as it is, with a calm brushstroke and moderation of excitement as much as possible. This work of Jeon-a Pumgyeog is one of the main characteristics of Gobong's poetry. Above all, the quality that appears most prominently in Gobong poetry is ‘Jayeon.’ ‘Jayeon’ is the quality that is widely revealed throughout Gobong’s poetry, including the release of excitement and restraint, the harmony of knowledge and spirit, and the natural development of poetry as if flowing. Additionally, the poetic beauty of the work, which reveals the quality of ‘Jayeon’, is outstanding. Understanding the quality of Gobong's poetry helps in understanding his works. For this reason, we discussed how Gobong's Pumgyeog Gilyeo, Jeon-a, and Jayeon were revealed in the work.
