ABSTRACT

This study aimed at theorizing the means and strategy of co-production, which is emerging as a new concept in terms of strengthening the ability to solve public problems. The public problems facing each community are different and varied, so the validity of the past centralized and one-way problem-solving approach is becoming increasingly weak. For this reason, social innovation derives from the awareness that finding new ideas and methods in the area close to the site is more effective. Various problem solving techniques have already been sought, and these techniques and methods are applied and used at the practical level in Korea and abroad. However, theoretical work, such as systematic review and typification of these techniques and methods, was somewhat insufficient in the academic world. In this study, through the comprehensive review and classification of existing social innovation cases, social innovation tools and strategies were categorized into two criteria: the subject and the method of solution. Finally, representative cases were introduced to help guide the benchmarking and application of social innovation cases.
