AB - 본 논문은 ≪燕行錄≫ 작자의 성명과 신분, 저작일정과 그 목적 등에 대하여 상세한 고증을 하여, 본 서의 작자는 金明遠이며, 저작시기는 朝鮮 正祖八年 12월 12일부터 다음 해 4월 18일경임을 밝혔다. 본 使團은 金明遠의 率領을 축하하고 은혜에 감사하기 위한 것이다. 본 글에서는 金明遠 글에서의 淸 乾隆朝의 도시와 향촌경관이 당시 청나라 조정의 번성했던 시기를 진실하게 반영하고 있다고 평가하고 있다. 金氏는 중국 국학에 탁월하였고, 문학적 수양이 깊었으며, 경물을 논하거나, 고금의 이해 이외에도 개인의 정감적인 묘사와 평론 등의 방면에서도 단연 우수했다. 그의 ≪燕行錄≫은 보기 드물게 아름답고 청아한 소품문집이라 할 만 하다.
