AB - In the process of research on the archaeological culture of the Shang and Zhou dynasties in middle reaches of the Yangtze River, we put forward three concepts, named the dynasty “culture norms”, “cultural system” and “culturalintegration”. Through the new perspective to observe, analyze and interpret the dynasty cultural relics, the local cultural relics and relationship between them,we put forward many new problems. We chose to such two aspects to clarify management process of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River between the two dynasties of the Shang and Zhou. One is the comparison with the difference of control to the area between them; the other is the analysis on overlapping and replacement of their cultural norms. We try to use the traditional and pure archaeological theory in the archaeological research of historical period, and what we pursue is how to complete the study from the lower‐level artifacts to the middle‐level cultural analysis, and then leap to the top‐level social system.
