ABSTRACT

The goals of this study were to analyze 10 years study of Modern English Education (2000-2009), to make conclusion of research of English textbooks related to English education and find out trends of articles, and finally to make suggestion for future English text books. Among 241 articles, the study reviewed 18articles, which are related with English textbooks, and classified them into research subjects, research areas, and research access methodologies. And again the study classified the research methodologies into linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors, contents, activities,classification of textbooks, and communicative approach. The results of research showed that researchers are mostly interested in communicative competence like listening and speaking, elementary school textbooks, and multimedia, which are the indicators of Korean English education trends. On the basis of this research, future suggestions of English textbooks and teaching methods are discussed.
