AB - Inter-organization systems(IOS) are being widely adopted in diverse industries such as airlines, healthcare, the automobile industry, banking, retailing and others. Currently, many of these IOS are ordering systems and electric markets that link organizations to suppliers, distribution channels and customers locally, nationally and internationally. IOS, such as EDI or SCM, has come to revolutionize in recent years the way in which business conduct their trading activities. But there is no sufficient research related to purchasing performance. The objective of this study is to find out the influence of technical competence, innovativeness and managerial competence on the performance of IOS for purchasing. Based on prior research, four hypothesis were derived and empirically tested using the structural equation model. The results shows that increase in‘innovativeness ’and ‘managerial competence ’were directly associated with increase in‘quality of IOS for purchasing ’. Furthermore, increase in‘quality of IOS for purchasing’led to increase in ‘performance of purchasing ’. But, there was no significant relationship between‘technical competence’and‘quality of IOS for purchasing’.
