AB - USN is an important technology that is acting as a driving force in realizing the ubiquitous society. Recently, pilot projects for testing the feasibility of USN have been undertaken. These include applications for monitoring weather conditions as well as those in military areas. However, different architectures between USN projects, particularly in identification, profile, protocol and data format, will cause serious problems for inter-connecting USN information. A heterogeneous USN architecture will also cause problems in building a nation-wide integrated USN management system. Therefore, national policies for the foundation of USN information resource management architecture are proposed in this study. In addition, policies including standardization for USN inter-operability as well as the prototype system for managing heterogeneous USN are also proposed.
