AB - The development of Information Communication society is remarkable. Internet business that used PKI(public key infrastructure) becomes popular. In this study, we analyzed the economic effects of the PKI that are used in the Internet banking services of the commercial banks. We used the two methodologies. We, first of all, estimated the relationship between the use of PKI and productivity of commercial banks. The empirical analysis shows that, if the 1% increasing of the PKI using, then 0.084% of the production in the commercial banks is increased. Next, In order to estimate the convenience of the internet banking users, we estimated the willingness to pay for the security of internet banking through the using PKI. The empirical analysis shows that the value of convenience of PKI was calculated as 41 billions won per year.
