ABSTRACT

This paper explored the more extended aspects of consumer protection in the new environment with ubiquitous technology and Web 2.0. For this purpose, the paper tried to provide a more systematic model of consumer and user protection to incorporate such recent changes. In addition, it summarized and categorized various cases of consumer damage which were reported to the police, several IT-user-related institutions and so on. The results revealed various and complex cases that existing policies and regulations could not effective deal with. Since it is expected that such the importance of complex cases will largely increase in terms of quantity and quality. It is necessary to promote the cooperation among the IT-user-related institutions. Furthermore, the possibility of the integrated center of IT-user protection should to be explored in the near future.
