ABSTRACT

Today, the Internet network is widely disseminated in the world. People have the chance to communicate political information and build up the Internet-based connection. So, web campaign plays an important role in the political process. The political candidates for the U.S. Presidential election have been using the web 2.0 YouTube.com as an outlet for advertising their candidacies. Web 2.0 is a term describing the trend in the use of World Wide Web(www) technology. And the YouTube.com is the largest User Created Content (UCC) web site in the world. The UCC refers to various kinds of media content, publicly available, that are produced by end-users. This paper analyzes the perspective and characteristic of the U.S. Presidential campaign - so called“ YouTube politics”or “UCC politics”. The paper explores the connection among political institution, culture, and the ICTs, by analysing CNN-YouTube Presidential debates. There are general conclusions which can be drawn from the analysis on the development of the UCC politics.
