ABSTRACT

How does Information Technology affect our future, lives, politics, and the discipline of political science? The emergence of the Information Age has brought about fundamental changes to politics going beyond simply using the Internet as new tools for communications in the political process. This paper defines Information Politics as an effort to perceive technology variable as an inherent and component variable in analyzing political phenomenon and explores current research trends and problems in the area of Information Politics. First, the existing literature on Information Politics is explored by taking a look at research trends developed over the years in the areas of comparative politics and international politics. This paper also examines problems faced by the research of Information Politics in the digital age and proposes issues for furthering research in this area.
