ABSTRACT

This narrative study aimed to investigate the experience and meaning of a multicultural understanding education instructor’s married life and work. Instructors in this field experience marital conflict and social discrimination because of cultural differences and actively use their life experiences in the educational field as nourishment. Although they experienced various anxiety and stress, they found it rewarding to promote cultural diversity and mutual respect. Through this exploration, three meanings were derived: raising a multicultural family with double effort, being reborn as an instructor in multicultural understanding education using life experiences as nourishment, and living for the day with a sense of reward despite anxiety and stress. This study explored the experiences and meaning of married life and the work of multicultural understanding education instructors who convey the values of cultural diversity and mutual respect on the front line. Appropriate and precise measures should be devised to ensure safety.
