ABSTRACT

The policy pursuing rapid economic growth has brought the material abundance. But in recently, the paradigm of the management of local or urban area has been changing. And people began to recognize that the environments and landscapes are the common property of residents and turn to their eyes from expanding the new urban areas to revitalizing the constructed cities. So, Korean government is developing actively the landscape policies and projects. And the Landscape Act, the first statute which is comprehensively regulating landscape issue became effective in 2007 in Korea. By the local government being able to establish the landscape law for itself, it is now possible to manage landscape in a way that is systematic and suitable for the local characteristics. The Landscape Act has been established such as landscape plan, landscape business and expecially, has adopted the system of Landscape Agreement as landscape management. the business to form unique landscape that is harmonious with the local characteristic can be made by voluntary participation of the residents based on the landscape agreement. Therefore, the objectives of the study aims to systematically readjust the existing landscape agreement system of Korea, in expect that beautiful and attractive landscapes reflecting the characteristics of local environment could be conserved.
