ABSTRACT

Being aware of the gravity of child and juvenile-related crimes, our society has lately strived to prevent crimes by pushing ahead with various policies. In the case of school violence, however, there isn't great concern for that because it is supervised by parents or teachers. For this reason, not many studies have investigated sexual crimes among different types of school violence that occur within school, but school violence takes place in diverse forms and becomes more serious. When incidents and accidents that occur at school were checked, inadequate guidance, insufficient management, poor education about crime prevention and harms from visitor access are found to have been the causes. In particular, it's necessary to take fundamental measures to ensure crime prevention because sexual crimes within school has a tremendous physical, psychological and mental impact on child victims. As the space of school is where children spend the second most time after their homes, our society should try to change awareness of intra-school violence and to prevent children from becoming victims of crimes. Also, the nation or society should make an effort to manage and protect children with a sense of responsibility to prevent crimes by actively intervening in crimes within school so that parents could entrust their children to schools.
