This study unearthed geomorphological landscape resources and evaluated the value of the resources as part of efforts to designate Mt. Ilwol as an ecological and landscape conservation area. The result showed that sheeting joints or tor, tafoni, weathering cave, flat topped crest and talus were representative of the weathering landform landscape of Mt. Ilwol, and the area was spread mostly through the west and east ridges of Mt. Ilwol. Rock riverbed, stream cliff, pothole, spring, waterfall, valley plain and river terrace were representative of the landform landscape of the streams, and were distributed mostly around Banbyeoncheon. The cultural landform landscape was found to include stream cliff, weathering cave, pothole, waterfall, cliff and tor. Results of evaluating the value of geomorphological landscape resources showed that weathering landform have important educational and academic value for researching the process of mountain decomposition according to the rising Korean peninsula during the Cenozoic 3. Stream erosion landform have an important significance in studying the geomorphology created through the development of Mr. Ilwol and surrounding streams. The sedimentation landform is vital as a strategic outdoor field of education that provides information on the increasing elevation of the Korean peninsula as well as climate changes. The cultural landform landscape contains the stories and legends of Mt. Ilwol. Dividing the ecological and landscape conservation areas yielded three categories: core eco-landscape conservation areas, neutral eco-landscape conservation areas, and spread eco-landscape conservation areas. For future eco-landscape conservation areas, geo-tourism focusing on geomorphological landscape resources and storytelling programs should be developed. An eco-geo program in connection with biological resources should also be developed and provided.
