AB - 日本語において、同一主語(動作主)による二つ以上の動作を並べる時、動詞の「～して」という形は、一般的に継起的な動作を表し、「～しながら」という形は、一般的に同時動作を表す。しかし、一般的に継起的な動作を表すこの「～して」という形が動詞としての述語性を失いつつ、從屬性を帶びていく過程において見られる現象の中の一つが、「～して」という形と「～しながら」という形の入れ替えが可能であるということである。このことをここで明らかにしたのである。すなわち、どのような場合に「～して」という形と「～しながら」という形の入れ替えが可能なのかを實例に基づいて「～して」を中心に明らかにしたわけである。
