ABSTRACT

The following paper discusses the effective way to develop the method of Japanese lecture as liberal education. The main topic is about the lecture system of Japanese liberal education that mostly consists of non-major students and adjunct professors. This study raises a few issues. First, the number of instructional hours are not enough to achieve the topic. Second, there are too many students per a class to manage effectively. In order to develop these issues we suggest a new teaching method. Specifically, we adopt ‘flipped learning’ and utilize ‘Band’ based on closed space on a social network services(SNS) The flipped classroom describes a reversal of traditional teaching where students gain first exposure to new material outside of class. The key is to gain first exposure outside of class and ‘Band’ is tool of that. In Considering Band’s functions, we determine the components of members, contents production, activity and management. This study presents an interesting approach to analyze a data the mock trial instructions that the 62 people attended. There needs to be more explanation on results analysis of mock trials considering related on-line lecture and appropriate evaluate manner and so on. There also needs to be additional research about content production motivating learners.
