AB - The purpose of this paper is to introduce Korean Japanese Learners’ group work on teaching Hiragana, and to indicate how effectively it can improve learning Hiragana. A test and survey on Hiragana will be followed. The test has shown that all students can memorize Hiragana successfully through 4 times of group work activity.
The survey identified that Korean Japanese learners evaluated that group work has positive effects on studying Hiragana. Among thirty-one students in total, twenty-three (74.2%) students answered positively about group work activity. This survey result, which is group work is more effective way to study Hiragana, it can be noticed that group work makes them practice repeatedly and cooperate with their peers. Thus, Korean Japanese learners might feel less pressured to memorize Hiragana. In addition, the responsibility from peers might promote their purpose of learning. Therefore, group work can be an effective method on teaching Hiragana.
