AB - Objectives: This study aimed to report the clinical improvement of elevated blood pressure and upper heat sensation in a Taeeumin patient treated with Cheonghyeolganggi-tang based on Sasang constitutional medicine.
Methods: This patient was diagnosed and treated based on Sasang constitutional medicine. The patient received Cheonghyeolganggi-tang and acupuncture treatment for approximately 8 months. Blood pressure was measured at every outpatient visit, and home blood pressure monitoring was additionally performed for 23 days. Upper heat sensation was evaluated using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and perceived stress was assessed using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS).
Results: After treatment with Cheonghyeolganggi-tang, blood pressure, upper heat sensation NRS, and PSS scores improved and remained relatively stable during the follow-up period. No significant adverse events were observed during treatment.
Conclusions: This case suggests that Sasang constitutional medicine-based treatment with Cheonghyeolganggi-tang may be helpful for improving elevated blood pressure and upper heat sensation in a Taeeumin patient.
