ABSTRACT

This study is a case study on the managing of a elemantary school sports club based on the Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP). This study was conducted to explore the possibility of applying CSPAP to school sports clubs in a situation where the activation of students' physical activities is being dealt with as a national agenda. The participating school is a elementary school located in Seoul, and research data were collected and analyzed inductively through journals, writing materials, and interviews with 100 students in the 5th and 6th grades who participated in the school sports club. The school sports club managing plan of the participating school was organized based on the CSPAP framework (CDC, 2013), and the study results were suggested based on the implementation results for 8 months from April to November 2023. The research results were divided into sports attitudes, sports knowledge, sports values, sports skills, and technology, and presented as effects obtained through school sports clubs for each theme. Through this, the possibility of managing a school sports club based on CSPAP was confirmed. Also, diversifying the CSPAP related organization, and the necessity of an education support community for activating CSPAP within a school was suggested.
