ABSTRACT

Objectives: The purpose is to analyze the composition status of teachers in charge of Korean language subjects at universities in Japan. Methods: Based on the results of the 2020 Korean Language Education Association's survey, we analyze the composition of each type of work (full-time/part-time) and the composition of each more (Japanese More speaker/Korean More speaker/other language More speaker). First, the appointment of full-time and part-time teachers was investigated in all schools or programs, and the results were analyzed by dividing them by more. After that, the number of full-time and part-time teachers in the corresponding course was divided into liberal arts reinforcement and major courses, and analyzed by more. Conclusions: Compared to the results of the International Culture Forum (2005), the number of full-time teachers in Japanese universities has increased overall, and the number of teachers has increased significantly. The number of full-time teachers between Japanese native speakers and Korean native speakers did not differ significantly in numerical terms, but the proportion of Japanese native speakers was about twice as high. On the other hand, in the case of part-time teachers, the proportion of native Korean speakers was significantly higher.
