ABSTRACT

Objectives: This article is a study on the phenomenon that the disintegrated good and evil becomes ambiguous in the detective-narrative of TV dramas. The detective-narrative deals with public power enforcing the 'law' fairly and punishing offenders without exception. But it is noteworthy that Dramas by Han Jeong-hoon, which was aired on OCN, are based on the basic narrative of "evil is killed by evil.". The fading of the dichotomy of good and evil needs to be pointed out as an important cultural sign. Methods: The basic grammar of detective-narratives is a narrative structure in which good and evil are divided, and a detective punishes the criminal. But dramas does not apply to classical detective-narrative grammar. By examining the structure of the transformed detective-drama, the hidden contradictions of the times were analyzed. Conclusions: In these dramas, the disintegrated good and evil disappears. Vampires and prosecutors combine, or crooks and civil servants are on the same side. Those who own capital and power are committing legitimate crimes, but punishment is impossible by 'law'. The underlying social evil is not a vampire or a criminal, but a criminal who causes a crack in the social system under the guise of law is a powerful person(capitalist).
